A moment of sheer terrier
My very merry and wonderful Christmas 2010 was spent in Cranleigh, Surrey- a beautiful part of the world. It is especially beautiful when the magical and eerie woods behind the house you're staying in become cloaked in a heavy early afternoon mist.....
Torin, the lovely chap in the photograph, had been painting and playing with his new 'Lord of the Rings' set all morning before the whole family decided to go for a Boxing day walk in the woods behind the house. 'Winterfold Woods' in the thick mist looked incredibly atmospheric, almost like a location from one of the Lord of the Rings movies. My brother-in-law's very large and wolf -like German Shepherd came with us which got me thinking about Jose Rodriguez the disqualified 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009' whose stunning image of a Spanish wolf jumping a gate landed him in hot water. Apparently wolves don't jump over things in the wild, turns out the wolf in question was tame and most likely hired for the photograph. 'Deva' the large Alsatian with us on the walk just loves jumping over stuff, especially when a 9 year old boy is riding on her back..... I definitley will not be entering this picture into any wildlife photographei awards this year.

All ambient light, no flash just a bit of inspiration and creativity mixed with some post production. The composite is made from three images,
1- 'Deva' the dog jumping over the fallen tree
2- Torin holding on to a sittingdown 'Deva'
3- Torin's leg laid flat
